What is bullying and what can we do about it in school? These were just some of the questions our primary school council networks discussed as we launched this year’s Anti-Bullying Week campaign through our Young Voices network. Fifteen schools attended the sessions with pupils sharing thoughts on anti-bullying procedures and considering the advice they might give to pupils experiencing bullying. Racism, homophobia and cyberbullying were all high on the agenda and pupils collaborated with other school councils, challenging and developing each other’s ideas in a mature and sensitive way. The session ended with the launch of the Healthy Schools Anti-Bullying poster competition, details of which can be found in the news section of our website. Big thanks to Beaver Road Primary and Moston Lane for hosting the events and providing some marvellous healthy refreshments!
