This one-hour training provides participants with a basic knowledge of drugs and associated issues - increasing staff confidence to be able to deliver drug and alcohol education. The course includes; an awareness of types of drugs, an understanding of the effects of drug use, risk and protective factors for young people, problems associated with drug use and an awareness of the services and referral pathways to be able to support young people who may be at risk.
This course is open to all staff who work within a school setting.
This course is provided free of charge to Manchester schools that have completed the 2018/19 Health Check.
