This skills-based training course aims to build the confidence and competence of front-line staff so they are able to respond helpfully to young people who have poor mental wellbeing. The 'Five Ways to Wellbeing' and the 'Five Areas Model of Emotion' will provide a framework for staff to begin their conversations with pupils about mental health and wellbeing and a range of evidence-based interventions will be explore. Participants will become confident in offering wellbeing advice and will develop the skills and understanding required to support young people experiencing troubling or difficult feelings.
This course is open to all staff who work within a school setting.
This course is provided free of charge to Manchester schools who have completed the 2017/18 Health Check.
