Session 2 of 2.
The Emotional Barriers to School Attendance training package aims to help schools to support pupils whose emotional and mental health problems are impacting on their attendance by exploring the whole-school approach, different approaches, strategies and supporting tools and resources. Schools will be expected to carry out a whole-school audit to assess their school environment, current approaches, systems and procedures before accessing the programme’s support. This will provide schools with focus areas and give direction to the support that they require. Once the audit has been completed you will be able to access this training and further support.
This session provides strategies and tips to help education staff tackle the issue, including case studies and what works. We will look at how schools can implement the M-thrive approach to providing support for ESBA and what agencies can provide support for schools, pupils and their families.
