Both primary and secondary schools have a legal obligation to have an up-to-date RSE policy that describes the content of the relationship and sex curriculum outside of the National Curriculum for science. A good RSE policy will be the outcome of a process of consultation and discussion with parents, staff, governors and pupils.
• Set up a small working group to consult with parents, staff, governors and pupils
• Consider national and local guidance on RSE
• Audit current provision
• Consultation on draft policy with parents, staff and governors
This course is open to all staff who work within a school setting.
This is course is provided free of charge to Manchester schools that have prioritised Relationships and Sex Education as part of the health check.
