Adverse childhood experiences and trauma can have long lasting implications to a young persons mental health and even physical health. The training aims to equip staff in understanding and supporting those most vulnerable. The training comes as either an hour session of an hour and a half session. The two sessions aim to explore the following -
1 Hour session -
- Understanding ACEs and trauma
- Identifying adverse experiences that can impact on a child's development and their responses to stress
- How trauma and attachment issues may present in the classroom
1.5 Hour session -
- The above topics and supporting the classroom environment, building autonomy and control, and increasing feelings of safety and resilience.
