Emotional Resilience – Your best is good enough (Priority with resources made available to all schools)
It’s no secret that exams are a major cause of worry and anxiety each year and while, to a degree, this is to be expected, there are steps that can be taken by schools, parents and the students themselves to look after their emotional wellbeing during exam season. It is widely understood that positive health and wellbeing – including mental health – contribute to a child’s ability to flourish, thrive and achieve (Public Health England, 2014), and equipping children with the skills to enhance their resilience against adversity will enable them to navigate challenges without compromising performance. From January training, student / parent workshops, assemblies and resources will be provided in order to support schools, students and parents in taking an emotionally healthy approach to exams.
